Disability – any condition of the body or mind (impairment) that makes it more difficult for the person with the condition to do certain activities (activity limitation) and interact with the world around them (participation restrictions).
Disability knows no age, gender, size, color or shape.
Disability looks different for every person.
Disability…this is my story.
From a successful college student to a life changing disability.
My life doesn’t look the same as it did 5 years ago and let’s be honest neither does my body.
Scars and extra weight from medications now cover my body.
While I could look at my body and be angry for what it looks like or disappointed as it continues to fail me, I don’t.
It has worked harder in the last 5 years than ever before.
It has been through major surgeries, so many needles, taken more medicine than I care to mention.
While me body doesn’t look perfect, it has been my vessel during this journey and I’m grateful for it.
